Pilgrim Community Church has been partnering with MinistrySafe since 2020 to develop and implement safe church practices for our ministry. Below you will find more information about MinistrySafe and some of its key features as well as a copy of our ministry policy.

What is MinistrySafe?

MinistrySafe was founded by legal professionals and sexual abuse experts, Gregory Love and Kimberlee Norris. Through their litigation practice representing victims of child sexual abuse, they recognized a vital need to equip churches and ministry programs to better protect children from sexual abuse. The risk is real, and it’s preventable. Prevention starts with awareness.

Student Safety System

All volunteers and staff are screened before they serve at the church. This includes sexual abuse awareness training.

Volunteers must attend services for six months to be eligible to serve children.

All potential volunteers and staff undergo a criminal background check.

We report all suspected or alleged abuse or neglect of children to the Fairfax County CPS Emergency Response Hotline:

Reporting Abuse or Suspicions of Abuse

Safety Procedures

We enforce that there be at least two trained and screened adults to supervise at all times.

We maintain a healthy student to adult ration at all meetings.

We follow the rules and guidelines as stated by our ministry policy.
